We went to numerous doctors but either the treatment didn’t work or they couldn’t find a cause. But Dr. Piyush surprised us all. He is very young, but he quickly diagnosed him with Kidney Stones and even though my husband is old and scared of medical procedures, he has gone through the entire process holding Dr. Piyush’s hands. As we wait for recovery, I think we both have found a Son in a hospital! We think we will actually miss the hospital when we go back home.

Let's know more
URSL (Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy) for Kidney Stones
When kidney stones get stuck in the tube connecting your kidney to your bladder, we use a proven method called Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy. Think of it as a precise way to reach and remove stones without any cuts on your body. Our doctors use a thin viewing tube that goes through your natural passage to find the stone. Once located, we break it down using laser energy into tiny pieces that easily pass out.
This treatment works best for stones sitting in the ureter or lower kidney area. The beauty of URSL is that you can often go home the same day. Most patients tell us they're back to their daily routine within a week.
At East Delhi Medical Centre, we've helped hundreds of patients from Shahdara, Dilshad Garden and Mansarovar Park to find relief from the sharp pain that kidney stones cause.
PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy) – for Large or Complex Stones
Some kidney stones grow too big or too stubborn for other treatments. That's when Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy becomes your best option. We make one small opening on your back, barely a centimeter wide, and use it as a doorway to reach your kidney directly. Through this tiny opening, we can remove stones larger than 2 cm or multiple stones in one go.
PCNL is especially helpful when stones have spread to different parts of your kidney or when shock wave treatments haven't worked. Yes, it requires a short hospital stay of about two to three days, but the results speak for themselves. We clear stones completely in most cases, giving you lasting relief.
RIRS for Kidney Stone Removal Without Cuts
For many patients today the preferred option is RIRS—no external incision, minimal discomfort, fast recovery. No Cuts, No Pain and No Scars. You can be up and running soon after your surgery.
This surgery leaves all issues behind. The surgeon enters via the urinary tract using a flexible scope, reaches the kidney and uses a laser to break the stone and remove fragments.
We’re proud to be the first hospital in Shahdara to offer RIRS for kidney stones, giving you access to advanced, local surgical care.
Not every kidney stone needs surgery. Small stones under 5mm usually pass on their own with plenty of water and some medication. You'll need surgery when the stone is too large to pass naturally, causes severe pain that won't go away, blocks urine flow, or leads to infections. If you've been dealing with a stubborn stone for weeks or your doctor spots one larger than 6mm on a scan, surgery becomes the practical choice. At East Delhi Medical Centre, we always try conservative treatments first before recommending any procedure.
RIRS and URSL typically offer the quickest recovery. Most patients walk out the same day or stay just one night. You'll feel tired for a few days, but many people return to desk jobs within three to five days. PCNL needs a bit more time since it involves a small opening in your back. Expect about two to three days in the hospital and around two weeks before you're back to normal activities. Recovery also depends on your overall health and how well you follow post-surgery care instructions.
The surgery itself is completely painless because you'll be under anesthesia. After the procedure, some discomfort is normal. You might feel a burning sensation while urinating or notice some blood in your urine for a few days. We prescribe pain medication to keep you comfortable during recovery. Most patients describe the post-surgery discomfort as manageable and far better than the intense pain caused by the stone itself. The relief you feel once the stone is gone makes the temporary discomfort worth it.
This depends on the kind and size of stone you have along with the kind of Surgery opted for. Finally the cost would depend on the Insurance options you have.
Surgery removes the existing stones completely, but it doesn't prevent new ones from forming. About half of people who've had one kidney stone will develop another within five to seven years if they don't make lifestyle changes. The good news is that prevention is possible. Drinking eight to ten glasses of water daily, reducing salt intake, eating less animal protein, and following your doctor's dietary advice can significantly lower your risk. After your surgery, we'll work with you on a prevention plan tailored to your stone type and health history.
